Anthem and Stanford reach agreement; SJVIA told members’ access will be uninterrupted

Eddie Barfield of Keenan and Associates reported that Anthem notified SJVIA staff that Anthem and Stanford reached contract terms before the targeted termination date of Sept. 1, and that the agreement will prevent disruptions to members receiving care at Stanford facilities across the counties. Barfield noted Anthem did not disclose contract length because Anthem considered those terms proprietary.
Board members called the news “good” for members who use Stanford. Staff recorded no action on the item; it was an information report.
