Superintendent outlines back-to-school training, staffing and orientation activities

Mr. Hook, superintendent of Forest Hills Local, updated the Forest Hills Local Board of Education on the district's back-to-school activities. He said the district held an administrative retreat on Aug. 7, a tech camp for new hires on Aug. 13, paraeducator training and restraint and seclusion training during the week, and a new-teacher orientation day for 34 new certified employees.
Mr. Hook said the district had 47 administrators across the district participate in the retreat (including both certified and classified administrators) and that the district reported approximately 700 staff members to Nagle for the start-of-year gathering. He also said the district added six new administrative employees, 34 new certified employees and 26 classified employees.
"We hit the ground running," Mr. Hook said, describing a busy start to the year and thanking the foundation and the Anderson High School Summer Orchestra for their roles at welcome events. The update was delivered as part of the superintendent's report and did not include any motions or votes.
