Commission endorses rezoning for storage units along US 191 despite neighbor concerns about road access and dumping

The Graham County Planning and Zoning Commission on Wednesday voted to recommend approval of rezoning case REZ 940-25, allowing a 5.5-acre portion of a larger parcel to be rezoned from general use to commercial manufacturing for development of storage units along U.S. Highway 191.
Applicant’s plan and access
Applicant Shauna Taylor told the commission she and her family purchased the property last year and plan to build a residence on the northern portion of the parcel and storage units along the highway frontage. Taylor said she spoke with the Arizona Department of Transportation and that ADOT granted permission to use an existing paved access easement about 800 feet south of Morning Dove Lane; “Nothing would be off of Morning Dove as it would be completely fenced in around there,” she said.
