The Cathedral City Historic Preservation Committee elected Committee member Evans as chair and Committee member Knox as vice chair during its meeting on Aug. 19, 2025. The committee also voted to approve the minutes from its previous meeting.
Committee members nominated Evans for chair; a second was recorded and the motion passed. The committee later nominated Knox for vice chair; the record shows that the nomination for vice chair was moved by (now) Chair Evans and seconded by Committee member Heckman, and the motion passed. Vice Chair Knox then moved to approve the minutes, a motion seconded by Committee member Heckman; that motion also passed.
The leadership change takes effect immediately. The committee chair and vice chair set meeting agendas and priorities for the body, which at this meeting included a staff presentation on work-plan priorities and discussion of a 139 Club wall-panels preservation opportunity.
