One parent asked, "Does that mean that they would have a full 22 points, just like the boys every year for competition?" The district reply stressed that staffing is step one and that subsequent decisions about scheduling, classification and competition would follow as the program is developed.
Board members said the posting will be expedited where possible and that outreach to students once school opens would help identify interested athletes. Administrators suggested using announcements and outreach with the new principal and existing coaches to publicize interest and registration opportunities.
