The Dorchester School District Two board voted Aug. 11 to approve the district's intent to award a low bid for exterior wall repair work at Oak Brook Elementary and Oak Brook Middle School.
District staff told the board the project information and the low bid were placed in the board packet under confidential procedures; staff said they had not contacted the contractor until the board approved the intent to award. Board member Bates moved the motion and board member Lee seconded; the motion carried 7–0.
Tony Soules and project staff described the work as part of referendum-funded capital improvements. No contractor name was released during the open meeting because the project had been kept confidential pending board approval. Staff will complete procurement steps required to finalize contract awards and proceed with the exterior wall renovation work.
