Bay County commissioners approve series of resolutions and authorize settlement agreement

The Bay County Board of Commissioners held a special meeting Aug. 5 and approved a package of resolutions covering collective bargaining agreements, staffing changes, project financing and routine payables, and authorized entry into a settlement and cost‑sharing agreement in the Fox v. Isabella County, et al. matter after direction reported from closed session.

The approvals were conducted by voice vote with no recorded roll call tallies in the public transcript. Commissioners amended the agenda to add a motion reported by county counsel to accept the attorney recommendation from the immediately preceding closed session related to Fox v. Isabella County, et al., authorize execution of the proposed settlement and cost‑sharing agreement, and authorize the board chair to sign necessary documents following review and approval by county counsel and corporation counsel; the board approved that motion and any required budget adjustments.
