Alamosa city staff introduced Ordinance No. 16-2025 on Tuesday, an ordinance to annex the Alamosa County Coroner's building into the city. Staff told council the property conforms with state statutes, the city's adopted codes and the municipal three-mile plan and that the proposed zoning is industrial.
A council member moved to approve Ordinance No. 16-2025 for first reading and to set a public hearing on Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. The motion carried unanimously.
Staff said annexation is required for the property to receive city services and that the zoning proposed is compatible with surrounding uses. The item will return for a public hearing on the date set by council.
