Assessor says Simpatico tax system implementation set for late year after final testing

The Kootenai County assessor’s office told commissioners on Aug. 5 that the Simpatico tax system implementation is in final testing and is expected to be implemented after this year’s tax bills are issued.
Chief Deputy Assessor Dyson reported the treasurer is still testing reporting and that the assessor’s office is targeting implementation in November–December, after tax bills are mailed. “So everything should be finishing up in November. We should be mailing in December. And then at that point, it seemed like the best time to implement Simpatico,” Dyson said.
Dyson said most major coding and billable work from the vendor XTR has been completed and the assessor’s office is now performing rounds of testing to adapt to recent state reporting changes. “This project's gone for a while, so there's been additional changes at the state and changes to some of the state reporting,
