There was no public comment on the appointment. A motion to approve the appointment was made and seconded; the city clerk recorded the motion as passing unanimously. Porter was sworn in by the city clerk and briefly addressed the council, saying he would “focus more on the positive” and work to secure funding for the commission.
Council members and staff welcomed Porter to the commission at the dais following the oath.
