Facilities Management presented two paving projects — Public Works Drive and Village Drive — that the department identified as top priorities after evaluation of county roads and parking lots. The staff memo said the project total includes construction, engineering services and contingency; a specific project cost was not provided in the committee presentation.
Commissioners confirmed the work would account for heavy equipment use at the Public Works Building and that resurfacing would be specified to handle large vehicles. Ed Joss said the county’s planning process assesses priorities across the campus and that projects will be bid once design and funding are in place. The committee moved to recommend the paving projects to finance and approved the motion 6-0.
Separately, the committee read and approved three consent-agenda fiscal appropriations under the Tri-Party Road Improvement Program: an appropriation with the Charter Township of Holly (project 58192), the Charter Township of Commerce (project 58211) and the City of Farmington Hills (project 57541). Commissioner Whitford moved the consent items, Commissioner Taylor supported, and the voice vote was 6-0 in favor.
All paving and tri-party items will be forwarded to the finance committee for appropriation and next steps.
