County staff reported that a statistical reassessment procurement will be advertised following approval of the RFP and state program (DLGF) acceptance.
The current contract expires April 30, 2026; staff proposed a new four-year contract running May 1, 2026, through April 30, 2030. Staff said the Request for Proposals must be advertised for a minimum of 10 days; the recommended schedule was to publish the notice in the Thursday paper, accept bids in the assessor’s office through Aug. 25 and open bids at the September meeting. The county noted that the statewide aerial flyover program underway across Indiana may produce additional data relevant to reassessment work.
Commissioners asked to receive the RFP and the DLGF-approved plan and to circulate those documents to the council for review prior to opening bids. Commissioners emphasized they wanted transparency about expected scope of services and an estimate of likely cost; staff said the last four-year contract was just over $350,000 but the new bids will determine actual costs. No bid was selected at the meeting; staff will post the formal notice and return with bids for the September meeting.
