Carmel-by-the-Sea officials announced an appeal hearing and several transportation and facilities items slated for upcoming council meetings.
City staff said the most substantial item on Monday's agenda is an appeal of the planning commission's decision approving the new JB Pasteur building; staff reported there are 11 appellants and that the hearing will begin at 3 p.m. in the JB Pasteur building. “There's 11 appellants, and that's gonna start at 3PM,” the staff member said.
Officials described Tuesday's regular meeting as including several items requiring council consideration: a police/public works/building ad hoc committee will present elements for a revised request for proposals; Acting Chief Treher (to present) will bring a resolution approving five additional stop signs in the downtown commercial district; and the council will receive an update on a pilot employee parking solutions program. Staff said the parking item is informational and no decisions are expected at that meeting.
On the RFP, staff said they are seeking council blessing on the elements of proposals to be received for the next step in the building project; no formal motion or vote was recorded during the remarks. On the stop signs, staff indicated a resolution will be presented for council approval on Tuesday.
The staff member thanked Police, Public Works and committee participants for their work preparing the items and noted that the council had previously discussed additional stop signs in July. The transcript did not include the text of any motions, vote tallies, or adoption outcomes for these items; they remain scheduled items for future meetings.
