Thomasina Cooper, Thurston County Fairgrounds and Event Center manager, accepted a county proclamation July 29 recognizing the 2025 Thurston County Fair and previewed the event schedule to the Board of County Commissioners.
Cooper told the board the fair would open Thursday at 10 a.m. and run through Sunday, Aug. 3. “The energy right now on the fairgrounds is absolutely palpable,” she said, and urged residents to attend.
Cooper described several special days planned for this year’s fair: Thrifty Thursday will feature $1 entry with a donation to the Thurston County Food Bank, Friday will be carnival wristband day offering unlimited rides for a single price, Saturday will honor first responders and military members and open with the commissioners’ pancake breakfast, and Sunday will be a kids’ day with family-focused activities. Cooper also noted new food vendors, demonstrations and a Conservation Corner led by the conservation district.
Cooper, who identified herself as fairgrounds and event center manager, invited commissioners and the public to attend and thanked the volunteers, staff, exhibitors and vendors working on the event. The board did not record additional action on the proclamation during the meeting.
Cooper closed by thanking the board for the proclamation and encouraging residents and visitors to attend the fair’s events and performances.
