Salinas Historic Resources Board elects Michael Masgay chair, Eloise Shim vice chair

The Salinas Historic Resources Board elected Michael Masgay chair and Eloise Shim vice chair during its July 7 meeting, the board announced after a roll-call vote.
The election followed nominations presented at the meeting. Board member Munoz moved to accept the nominations; Board member Callender seconded. In a roll-call vote, all members present voted yes and the motion passed.
Michael Masgay, newly installed as chair, thanked outgoing chair Larry Hirihara for his service. "Thank you very much," Masgay said, adding that Hirahara had done "an excellent job of his duties for 2 years. It'll be a hard act to follow." The board then passed the gavel to Masgay.

No amendments or further action were attached to the election. The board moved on to administrative reports following the installation of the new chair.
