The Village Board on July 23 approved partial change order No. 1 to the contract with Davis Concrete Construction to add $105,500 to the 2025 sidewalk improvements project (agenda item 13f).
Staff explained the change order increases the original contract to add additional locations the Village identified after bids were lower than budgeted. The original contract covered 14 locations; staff said they had identified up to 43 locations from the sidewalk program backlog and were waiting for resident approvals to finalize the additional addresses. The Village expects a $140,000 reimbursement from a DCO grant for eligible work and said the program is a resident participation program commonly described as a “50/50” program, though staff noted that when the village pays for parkway tree damage or ADA ramps the resident share is lower and the historical split is closer to 75/25 in favor of the village for many locations.
Trustees asked for a public map and regular updates; staff said they would publish the locations and update the construction project dashboard once resident participation was finalized.
The change order passed on roll call.
