Vice mayor asks for Sportsplex feasibility update; city manager to deliver plan by next meeting

At the July 22 Newport News work session, Vice Mayor Bethany asked the city manager for an update on the Sportsplex feasibility study. "Real quick. If mister manager, it doesn't have to be now, but maybe by the next meeting, an update on the feasibility study, Sportsplex that we were talking about, I would appreciate an update," Bethany said.
City Manager Allen responded that staff is preparing materials and a strategy to bring to council. "Yes, sir. Mister vice mayor, we are, preparing some, materials, now and a strategy to bring forward to our city council. And I'll certainly have, that strategy for you, and the other council members by the next meeting," Allen said.
The exchange recorded a direction for staff to prepare and deliver the feasibility materials by the council's next meeting; no formal vote was taken on the topic during the work session.
