Superintendent announces Stuff the Bus supply drive and school-start reminders

Taylor announced the annual Stuff the Bus school-supply drive: donations are being accepted through Friday at Coastal Dentistry in Morehead City and at Saferitz Building Supply; additional drop-off opportunities are expected this weekend at Walmart and Staples, with the main distribution event set for Aug. 13. He said donated supplies will go directly to students in need and asked the community to follow the district on social media for additional distribution details.
Taylor reminded the board that school staff return next week and that students begin classes Monday, Aug. 25; he urged drivers to be alert on roads when school is in session. He also noted the next regular school board meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 6 p.m. and that it will be live streamed on YouTube.
