Uintah County’s road department presented two road maintenance agreements — one with Anschutz Exploration Corporation and a second with Spieco Oilfield Services — to reimburse or assist with maintenance on heavily used asphalt wash roads.
Scott Hardman of the county road department explained the agreements are intended to have the companies provide material, water, graders or other assistance because intensive truck traffic has damaged the county’s wash roads. Commissioners moved to approve the two agreements as discussed in a prior work session; the motion passed by voice vote with ayes recorded.
County staff said these are intended to help the road crew keep up with maintenance where industry truck traffic is accelerating wear.
