Commissioners approve moving boardroom to former library and giving existing lab to sheriff's office

The Wagoner County Board of Commissioners on Aug. 4 voted to allow the sheriff’s office to use an existing computer lab and to convert the former library/media room in the North Annex into the county boardroom.
A staff member who inspected the spaces described the former library as “like, 39 by 74. So it's about 2,800 and some square foot,” and said it already has counters, storage rooms and Wi‑Fi, making it immediately usable for a boardroom without construction. The same staff member noted that the current lab was originally built as a computer room and would suit the sheriff’s needs without new electrical work.
Commissioner Tim moved to give the lab to the sheriff’s department and repurpose the library room for the board; Commissioner Randy seconded. On roll call the commissioners recorded: Commissioner Stamps — Aye; Commissioner Kelly — Aye; Commissioner Hamill — Abstain. The motion carried.
