On Aug. 6, 2025 the Board of Sanitary Commissioners approved Resolution 2025-09, an amendment to the district salary resolution that reclassifies one IT position and restructures electrician job classifications to broaden recruitment options.
Rick Conrad, district administrator, said, "The first 1 is to update, 1 of our titles from Computer Network Specialist to IT Systems Analyst. It's associated with, some minor changes in the job description, but it better reflects what this, the person in this position is, actually doing at the moment." He told the board the amendment also moves the position from hourly to salaried pay because "they have fairly consistent overtime over the last few years and I think it's probably better that we just include that into the work that they're doing."
Conrad described the electrician changes as a response to a long-running vacancy: "So what we've done is we've expanded that electric electrician position into 3, so there's a journeyman, journeyman 2, and a master, which will give us the ability to post for that position at a higher pay." He said the goal is to attract a more experienced candidate for work at the water pollution control facility and noted the opening had been available "for a little over a year."
Commissioners offered brief comments in support. Commissioner Selby said, "good luck attracting the right person and talent." Commissioner Overton called it "a good step forward" and said the board tries to keep job descriptions and pay competitive. The board moved to approve the resolution; the motion passed with the commissioners present voting in favor.
The amendment modifies job titles, pay treatment for one IT role, and the structure and pay range for electrician classifications. The board did not specify exact new pay ranges during the public discussion. Next steps include posting the revised positions and proceeding with recruitment under the updated classifications.
