Davis County approves health department contracts, equipment donation for senior center

Davis County commissioners approved a donation agreement and two public-health contract amendments during their meeting.

Brian Hatch, director of the Davis County Health Department, told the commission the county will accept a donated lapidary slab from Tracy Gregory for use at one of the county’s senior centers beginning Aug. 19, 2025 and continuing until the county no longer uses the equipment. Hatch described senior-center lapidary activities as popular with participants.

Hatch also presented two contract amendments with the Utah Department of Health and Human Services. He said the integrated viral hepatitis surveillance and prevention program amendment is a receivable of $6,399 and runs from May 1, 2025, through April 30, 2026. The immunization contract amendment is a receivable of $103,815.04 and runs from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026. "This is a receivable in the amount of $6,399 beginning 05/01/2025 running through 04/30/2026," Hatch said; he also read the immunization amount and term into the record.

A motion to approve items 4, 5 and 6 as presented was made and seconded; the chair called the question and recorded unanimous assent with "Aye." The county minutes record the items as approved. No additional conditions or amendments were noted at the meeting.

The funding and the donated equipment support vaccination and viral disease surveillance work in Davis County and provide a new activity resource for one senior center. The donors and contract terms were reported on the record; the commission did not add additional implementation directions for county staff.
