Jean Morton, identifying herself as a Truist Bank relationship manager, told the Collierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen on Aug. 25 that Truist has opened the town’s accounts, implemented treasury services and trained staff, and requested that the town pause any termination of its banking relationship so Truist can complete service delivery.
Morton said her local team is assembled and that all accounts are opened and treasury services implemented; she noted only deposit bags remained to be delivered and offered to deliver them the following morning. “All the hard work has been done for your team, just please let us execute,” Morton said, asking the board to allow the bank to complete the contracted services.
Her remarks were made during the citizen-comment portion of the meeting. The board did not take immediate action on the banking relationship during the session; staff and board members acknowledged the statement and recorded the request for follow-up.
