The Lakeville City Council on Aug. 4 took the following formal actions during its meeting:
Consent agenda — approved (motion to approve the consent agenda; mover: Councilman Dan Walter). Items listed in the meeting packet included updates to internal personnel policies (items 6I, 6K, 6L and 6M) to conform with changes in state statutes, and a professional services agreement with RJM Construction to serve as construction manager for the new fire station currently in design. The council approved the consent agenda by voice/roll-call procedure.
Joy Thai Cuisine LLC — on-sale wine and on-sale 3.2% malt liquor license granted (motion by Councilwoman Burmel). The council held and closed a public hearing; the clerk reported the restaurant’s legal-entity change from its previous structure to Joy Thai Cuisine LLC and said ownership and management remain the same. The council approved the license and recorded ayes on the roll call.
Ordinance amending Title 10 and Title 11 — adopted (motion to approve ordinance and authorize summary publication). The ordinance combines subdivision and zoning updates intended to reduce certain local hurdles for smaller lots and townhomes, allow cement-fiber/engineered-wood exterior materials in some cases, apply RM-3 townhome standards in RH districts, remove a PUD minimum-area requirement, and make several additional technical and administrative updates. The council completed a roll-call vote to adopt the ordinance and authorized the summary for publication.
Votes and motions for these items are recorded in the meeting minutes. No further formal actions were taken at the meeting; the council scheduled its next regular meeting for Aug. 18 and a work session for Aug. 25.
