The Torrington City Council on Aug. 19 adopted an ordinance on third reading that amends park hours to establish operating times for the city's new pickleball courts: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
City attorney or staff member (reading) Charles Eddington read the ordinance title to the council as an amendment to Torrington Municipal Code section 12.40.06 relating to municipal parks hours. Senior Accounting Clerk Rhonda Estes had no additional comments; staff said the ordinance only sets hours for the new courts located just north of the municipal swimming pool.
A council member asked whether signage would be posted to notify users of opening and closing times; staff reported that signage had been ordered and would arrive shortly. The ordinance was moved on the floor and approved by voice vote on third reading.
