City staff provided a series of brief project updates to the council.
Staff reported that asbestos abatement at the Centennial site is ongoing with a projected completion date of Sept. 29. The Industrial Road sanitary sewer extension began the previous day; the contractor (Salsma) was given a 13-working-day schedule for the work.
Staff said the city applied for state funding earlier in the year for an airport taxiway reconstruction and relocation project and that the city was approved for $320,004.20 in funding, which staff described as the maximum 73% reimbursement the city could receive under the program. Staff said the project is scheduled for next year.
The council also received a reminder about the city’s 2025 fall cleanup days: Sept. 13 and the week of Sept. 15–19. Residents may take up to 1,000 pounds of waste to the landfill free of charge on those days.
The updates were presented without formal council action recorded in the meeting transcript; they were informational reports to the council.
