Staff said they completed internal water line inspections, assisted Spicer with locating shutoffs, collected samples for the consumer confidence report and completed catch basin and roadside repairs.
DPW also reported ongoing cleanup from recent storm/tornado damage: stumps and ripped‑up areas in parks were filled and leveled, but a large brush pile remains and staff reported repeated illegal dumping of construction debris (shingles, pallets, a 50‑inch TV). DPW said they had filled a dumpster twice to handle the illegal material and briefly locked the brush‑pile access because of excessive dumping; staff said signage and cameras on light poles could help reduce misuse.
Council authorized posting a job announcement to recruit a fourth DPW employee (motion passed by voice vote). Council also discussed whether to keep the brush pile open or limit access hours; staff said they would try to keep it open while monitoring and might restrict hours if dumping continues.
No ordinance changes were enacted; DPW will continue cleanup and investigate options for disposal and monitoring.
