Bedford County Academy board approves practical-nursing policies, opens grant account and confirms personnel changes

The Bedford County Academy of Science and Technology operating committee approved multiple practical-nursing program policies, authorized a separate bank account to receive Hamer Foundation grant funds and accepted personnel changes during its meeting, while staff reported summer classroom moves and planned safety upgrades.

The approvals included a set of practical nursing policies and procedures, the hiring/contracting of a financial aid consultant, the first reading of several academy policies and updated job descriptions for two school positions. A motion to open an additional checking account for the Hamer Foundation grant — a requirement in the foundation’s contract — also carried on a roll-call vote.
