The Lawton City Council convened a special meeting and entered an executive session under Title 25, Oklahoma Statutes §307(C)(11) to discuss economic development matters, including transfer of property, financing and proposals to entice businesses to remain in or locate to the city. The council later disclosed that the discussion occurred and that no formal action resulted.
Councilmember Gill moved to go into executive session; Councilmember Chapman seconded the motion and the presiding official called for a roll call. The meeting record states the executive session was convened pursuant to Title 25, Oklahoma Statutes §307(C)(11) for the purpose of discussing economic development, including transfer of property and financing. After returning from the closed session, council members were polled and the presiding official announced that the council had discussed the matter and that no action was necessary. The meeting then moved to a motion for adjournment.
