Meeting participants approved the agenda as amended during a Ramsey County meeting, and staff provided updates on several local development projects.
Brady Ash, a staff member, gave a brief overview of projects from the last 12 months, including a PACE project with Woodburn Resort that produced an event center now hosting weddings and other events; Joyful Beginnings’ ongoing construction of a 2,400‑square‑foot expansion intended to allow enrollment of up to 30 school‑age children; and plans for a roughly 130‑acre addition north of the existing industrial park off Highway 2 that is awaiting site certification.
The agenda approval was taken by voice vote. A motion to approve the agenda as amended was made and seconded; the meeting chair called for the ayes and nays and declared the motion carried.
Ash said Woodburn Resort’s event center opened and had its first wedding shortly after construction completed and that the facility has a grand opening planned in August. He described the Joyful Beginnings project as a 2,400‑square‑foot construction that will expand the campus and accommodate up to 30 school‑age children. On economic development, Ash reported an intended 130‑acre addition to the industrial park north of the current site off Highway 2 and said the county is waiting on the site‑certification process to finish before proceeding.
No formal votes were taken on the projects themselves during this segment; Ash closed by offering to take questions.
The meeting also noted several presenters and organizational participants on the agenda, including Ramsey County Resource District, and references to LAC and LEC items; those items were acknowledged as on the current agenda but were not discussed in detail in this portion of the meeting.
