Director Hutchinson said the contract pairs a crew that loosens compacted debris at curbs with a sweeper that works largely at night; the crew “knock[s] the debris loose” ahead of sweepers so the sweeper can collect leaves, sand, pine straw and other debris.
Commissioners approved the contract by voice vote and asked staff to add additional roads to the list; commissioners specifically asked to add Constitution Road, Bouldercrest Road and Pleasantdale Road (as noted in the meeting), and staff said additional roads may be added if requested in time for next week’s update.
