A council member said she had received an email from Susan Derita (organizer) and reviewed materials showing the services villages typically provide, including transportation to appointments, errands, social visits, caregiver support, technology help and group activities. Packet materials discussed potential membership fees and examples of services already offered in town through existing providers.
Councilors and residents noted many of the services (transportation by Wood River Health Services, Tai Chi and Bingo at the recreation center, and technology help at Langworthy Library) already exist and suggested stronger coordination and outreach. Speakers said an initial membership rate in other villages ranges from $10 to $40 per month; the council member said she will ask organizers to clarify the fee structure and benefits at the upcoming meeting.
Councilors agreed to place an update on a future agenda after organizers meet with residents.
