The Select Board approved creation of a 30-hour-per-week administrative services coordinator position at a rate of $22 per hour and benefit eligibility, to be funded by a mix of existing budget lines and reduced cable clerk duties.
Town Administrator Nate told the board the additional hours would combine up to four hours funded by the Board of Health’s revolving fund, up to four hours of cable-clerk time that will be reallocated, and land-use budget funds to create a 30-hour position. He said staff have identified candidates and expect to bring a formal job description to a future meeting.
Board members discussed risks of repeatedly revising positions and the need for clear job descriptions and continuity if incumbents leave. Supporters said increased hours would improve administrative capacity for building and land-use work, grants and public-facing services. The motion to create the position carried by voice vote; the administrator will return with a formal job description.
