Staff said the crew had been deployed for almost two weeks and would return to Woodland Hills for a mandatory 48‑hour rest before redeployment if needed.
Separately, Council member Lisonbee reported she had joined a multi‑jurisdictional Department of Natural Resources (DNR) committee convened to evaluate elk‑management options. The committee includes representatives from five cities, golf‑course operators, biologists and local law enforcement. Committee discussions are exploring a range of measures — from habitat and deterrence strategies to population management — and councilors were told no single solution will avoid impacts to one or another stakeholder; the committee expects further meetings and will prepare a recommendations document for participating jurisdictions.
Council members asked staff to provide community resources about wildfire status and to consider posting public‑facing links to Utah fire‑information resources so residents can monitor active incidents and smoke advisories. Council requested staff share selected photos of the wildland crew with community channels.
