Public‑private support and grant funding: The city applied for and was awarded a Small Community Air Service Development (SCASD) grant and will contribute local matching funds. Airport staff said the community and the Type B economic development corporation will provide support up to an agreed cap; those public funds are structured as contingent support that will be disbursed only if the route’s aggregate financial metrics fall short of agreed thresholds during an initial guaranteed period. Airport staff said the total city commitment will be taken from aviation and Type B funds and is not general‑fund taxpayer support.
