Board extends dumpster permit at 700 South Englewood to Sept. 2 after safety concerns

Jill Zook of Priceless Properties Construction Management LLC told the board the dumpster is for a full basement remodel at the home and is already placed on the corner of Bellemeade where it occupies approximately three parking spaces. Zook said crews had added caution tape, reflectors and cones and that moving the dumpster onto nearby Inglewood was not feasible because that street is narrow and heavily parked. She said the contractor had requested a smaller unit but a 30-yard container arrived because no 20-yard unit was available.
Board members expressed concern about visibility for drivers and school buses near the location and pressed Zook for a timetable. Zook said the homeowner had authorized additional tear-out because of water damage and that the work proceeds in phases; she declined to guarantee a five- to seven-day removal, saying progress depends on the extent of water damage and materials availability. One board member proposed, and the board approved, continuing the permit to Sept. 2 to give the contractor time to advance the work.
The board recorded the motion to continue the permit and the chair called the question; the motion passed by voice vote. The transcript shows no additional conditions such as required alternate placement or mitigation measures beyond the contractor’s assurances about cones and reflectors. The board noted that the dumpster could not be placed over a water meter or water line, which factored into the site selection.
