Eastview FCCLA students recognized for national awards; advisor Mia Battistone acknowledged

Rob Franchino introduced an Eastview High School Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) recognition at the board meeting and highlighted several students who placed at the national leadership conference in Orlando.
Franchino, stepping in for advisor Mia Battistone (who was traveling and did not attend), told the board that Eastview qualified 15 members for the conference and cited individual accomplishments: a student earning an FCCLA Memorial Scholarship; students selected for the national fashion show; and several podium finishes in events including knowledge challenge and fashion construction. Names mentioned included Amani Mandal (FCCLA Memorial Scholarship; first place in FCCLA knowledge challenge), Abby Ward (showcase in the national fashion show; silver medalist in fashion and construction), Emily Ward (bronze in fashion design) and others.
Franchino noted Mia Battistone's professional recognition (named 2025 national teacher of the year in family and consumer sciences and Minnesota teacher of the year in the same field) and said the chapter is the district's only FCCLA chapter and consistently one of the largest in Minnesota.
Board members offered congratulations; no action was required.
