Northampton County Council on Aug. 21 took several routine actions and introductions. Highlights from the meeting vote session follow:
Appointments and confirmations - The council confirmed appointments and reappointments to advisory boards as presented by the county executive: Michael Andre to the Drug and Alcohol Advisory Board (term to expire 06/30/2027); Arlene J. LaSalle Lund to the Mental Health, Early Intervention and Development Programs Advisory Board (term to expire 07/22/2028); and Anthony (Tony) Pristash to the Personnel Appeals Board (term to expire 02/03/2027). The council moved and carried the confirmation vote during the meeting roll call.
Area Agency on Aging gift donations - Council approved a resolution authorizing the Area Agency on Aging to accept two gifts for senior programming: $2,000 from United Way of the Lehigh Valley and $2,000 from Crayola to support a luncheon and flower arrangements at the Sleepbelt Senior Center. The resolution passed on roll call.
Introductions (public hearing set Sept. 4) - Council introduced an ordinance amending the 2025 Northampton County budget (Community and Economic Development, Public Works, Capital Projects and Human Services line items). A public hearing, debate and possible vote were scheduled for Sept. 4, 2025. - Council introduced an ordinance to lease Northampton County‑owned real property to the City of Easton, Pennsylvania. A public hearing, debate and possible vote were scheduled for Sept. 4, 2025.
Other votes - Two contract resolutions for Wyatuck restroom replacement and trail improvements (electrical and plumbing) were considered and concurred with by council; those items are summarized in a separate council action (contracts with Bilitier Electric Inc. and Master Mechanical Corporation).
