York Suburban SD approves consent agenda, OKs swim-team pool rental with York College

The York Suburban School District board unanimously approved its consent agenda and separately approved a facility rental agreement with York College of Pennsylvania for the high school swim team's preseason practices during its Aug. 25, 2025 meeting.

The board voted to approve the consent agenda after no member requested an item be pulled for separate consideration. The treasurer reported year-to-date general fund revenue of $4,730,000 against a budget of $75,200,000 and expenditures of $1,220,000 against a budget of $75,600,000, producing a year-to-date surplus the treasurer described as about $3,500,000. The consent agenda included an intermediate school project expenditure that a board member described as "about $2,000,000." Board members considered the consent items together; the chair said the vote "should be considered unanimous." (All nine members were present.)

Separately, the board approved a facility rental agreement with York College of Pennsylvania to rent the college's sport and fitness center for the swim team's preseason practices. The memorandum of understanding limits district use to up to six lanes under the proposed schedule. During discussion, board members and staff said York College staff and district athletic staff are coordinating a final calendar for practices and meets, and that the college has been cooperative in securing pool access. A district board member estimated combined preseason and season costs at roughly $30,000; board staff said the district has funds set aside for the program. The board chair thanked York College of Pennsylvania for the partnership.

Both motions passed by unanimous vote with nine board members recorded as present.
