Dare County posts Priority 3 reentry schedule allowing nonresident property owners to return

Dare County posted a “Priority 3” reentry schedule that includes nonresident property owners and employees of noncritical businesses, residents on a phone call said.

Bonnie, a resident, said the county website listed the Priority 3 schedule and indicated that most services would be restored by that phase. “They just posted priority 3 reentry schedule. That includes us as nonresident property owners. It also covers employees of noncritical businesses. They're saying that most services will be restored by then,” Bonnie said.

Susan, a resident, said the county’s guidance identified acceptable documentation for reentry. “I think I remember downloading a reentry permit. And it says another alternative is to use a current real property tax bill that matches a government issued ID,” she said. Susan added she did not expect to use the tax-bill option because she already had a reentry permit.

The residents discussed using the Priority 3 window to travel to the Outer Banks to check on property and to handle business before visitors return. The conversation did not reference specific dates, county officials, or the exact posting time on the Dare County website.
