The Resource Management Commission voted unanimously to approve two Austin Energy items that authorize aggregate issuance of rebates and incentives so contractors are paid without project-by-project council approvals.
Richard Genesee, vice president of customer energy solutions for Austin Energy, told the commission the two items (items 2 and 3 on the meeting agenda) extend existing authority that lets the utility issue payments quickly rather than sending each contractor reimbursement to City Council for separate approval. “The sole purpose of these is to get contractors paid quickly and, so that there isn't any delay in getting, their, projects paid fully,” Genesee said.
