The Woodland Park City Council voted unanimously Aug. 7 to award a $153,584.48 contract to Pyramid Construction to mill and overlay a deteriorated portion of Center Street/Center Camino.
City staff said the project covers the section from Vaquerosenda through the Ardello Camino area to County Road — the portion staff identified as the worst segment — and not the entire stretch between Lake and Kelly’s. Kip, the staff presenter for the item, said the project was added after savings from a separate Browning project became available and that the contract’s completion date is set for September under the current contract timeline.
Council members sought clarity on which segment would be paved; staff described the start and end points and agreed the segment addressed the worst surface conditions. The motion to award the contract carried on a unanimous roll call.
Staff said they will meet with the contractor after council approval to firm up a start date and schedule.
