The Hardee County Planning and Zoning Board on Aug. 7 recommended approval of a special exception allowing two existing buildings on separate parcels totaling about 11 acres to be used for storage of wholesale fiberglass septic systems.
Jordan, planning staff, said the request from TNG concerns two parcels on the east side of Garza Road (2798 Garza Road) in the A‑1 zoning district. The site contains an existing warehouse and office buildings; no new construction is proposed at this time. Staff said the proposed use is consistent with section 90.804 criteria for special exceptions but recommended that, as a condition, the owner obtain site development plan approval prior to issuance of building permits.
A representative described the product as household‑sized fiberglass septic systems based on foreign technology and noted existing operations sell and distribute systems statewide. One board member said the systems had been discussed at a county convention and that the applicant currently operates from Cape Coral and sells across Florida.
A motion to recommend approval of Planning & Zoning Application 25‑63 (special exception) carried. The motion included the condition that prior to approval of building permits the property owner must obtain site development plan approval for the project. The applicant will bring the recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners for final action.
