Commission approves Ottawa University ‘Fusion’ Parade of Champions use of courthouse lawn

A county staff member told commissioners that Main Street organizers and Ottawa University asked to use the courthouse lawn and power for a sound system and celebration following a parade honoring local teams. Commissioners indicated they were agreeable to the request and did not require a formal motion.
Staff said they would coordinate logistics and any necessary event permits or traffic control with Main Street and the university.
The commission voiced general support and asked staff to ensure event coordination details were finalized in advance of the Aug. 26 date.
