Committee extends two airport-board terms until December to maintain quorum

The Assembly Finance Committee on Aug. 6 approved extending the terms of two Airport Board members, Jerry Godkin and David Epstein, through Dec. 2025 to maintain a functioning board while the city continues to solicit applications for replacements.
Human Resources Committee chair Kester asked the finance committee to make the temporary reappointments after the HRC found the two existing members were willing to remain until replacements are selected. Kester told the committee she had written confirmation from both men that they would serve for the interim. The motion, offered by Assemblymember Atkinson to extend the terms until December 2025, passed by unanimous consent with no objections recorded.
Committee staff said the city will continue to solicit applications and reappoint as needed in December or at a future meeting if vacancies remain.
