During agenda review the Grand Island City Council noted that two scheduled public hearings were canceled for the meeting and should be rescheduled for Aug. 18, according to a staff member identified in the discussion as John.
Councilmembers discussed the procedural handling of a bond resolution related to road improvements and noted that the first bond resolution "can be passed by ... three fifths vote." Councilmembers also said the meeting packet contains resolutions for the items, and that some matters could proceed by simple motion where no hearing is required.
No formal vote on the bond resolution occurred at this meeting; the council set August 18 as the rescheduled date for the public hearings and indicated staff will return the items on that date.
