Water Purification District approves salary adjustment for chief maintenance mechanic

The Albany County Legislature approved a budget amendment to the Water Purification District’s 2025 budget to fund a prorated portion of an approved salary increase for the district’s chief maintenance mechanic.
Executive Director Gaudio described the request as a salary modification of $9,500 annually, which would raise the position’s salary from $83,076.05 to $93,026.05. The Legislature was asked to authorize a prorated 2025 budget amendment of $2,375 to cover the remainder of the year, with the higher annual salary to take effect Sept. 1, contingent on prior approval by the district’s board at its June 11 meeting, Gaudio said.
Gaudio said the chief maintenance mechanic supervises maintenance at both treatment plants and manages a crew of roughly 18 people. He said the adjustment aligns the position’s pay with similar titles in the area.
A motion to approve the amendment was seconded and passed by voice vote.
