Board approves consent items, driveway petition and handicap parking renewals

The Richmond Board of Public Works and Safety approved routine consent items and several permit requests on Aug. 14.
By voice vote, the board approved minutes from its Aug. 7 meeting; claims for payment totaling $369,403.72; and payroll claims totaling $191,796.
Aaron Stevens, administrative resource officer for the Richmond Police Department, presented a driveway petition filed by Morgan Properties for a lot in the Hidden Valley subdivision (Hidden Valley Drive, Twelfth Edition Lot 182). Stevens said he had visited the site and inspected the driveway and that neighbors he spoke with did not object. He also said the planning department had approved permits for the house and the driveway. "I have gone by and physically checked and observed that myself," Stevens said.
The board approved the driveway petition as presented. The board also approved renewals of existing handicap parking spaces at: 1320 Boyer Street; 29 Southwest Fourth Street; 19 South Fourth Street; 1400 South Eighth Street; and 218 North Fourteenth Street. Stevens said he had visually checked those spaces and that they remained in compliance.
All consent items and permit renewals were approved by motion, second and unanimous vocal "aye."
