Powell City Council approved Task Order No. 3 with HDR Engineering to begin design work for the airport runway rehabilitation project.
Staff said the overall project is funded about 97.5% by the Federal Aviation Administration and the Wyoming Department of Transportation; design work will begin immediately and construction is expected next summer. The scope includes runway paving and related items such as runway and taxiway lighting, the AWOS, beacon work and any other elements that can be consolidated into the FAA-funded project.
Council approved the task order and authorized signatures to allow HDR to start the first-phase engineering work. Staff said the grant application and final design will be brought forward once design is complete.
