Allred said he had worked with the planning department and found a staff report dated March 6, 2024 that lists 11 criteria for flag-lot approval. "I just wanted to address city council and see why those were denied and maybe see if we can reopen that discussion for reconsideration," Allred said, adding that he believes his lot would meet all 11 criteria.
Council members and staff advised Allred to meet with the city planner, Sean Conroy, to review the specific code provisions and the prior record. Conroy told Allred he is the staff member most versed in the ordinances and recommended setting a meeting to compare the application to the staff report and previous council action. Allred said he will set up that meeting.
No formal action or vote was taken; the council directed the resident to pursue a staff-level review with the planner as the next step.
